General Information
1. What is the StudyNow Scholarship 2025 Program?
StudyNow has launched a scholarship program offering fully and partially funded scholarships to Nigerian and Ghanaian students. The Scholarship applies to programs at the University of Sunderland and York St John University for the September 2025 intake [except Mres].
Scholarships will be awarded as follows:
• Scholarships covering 100% of tuition fees for Year 1 of undergraduate (UG) studies.
• Scholarships covering 50% of tuition fees for postgraduate (PG) studies (excluding MRes programs).
2. Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship?
The Scholarship is open to nationals of Nigeria and Ghana. Applicants must meet the following academic requirements:
Undergraduate Applicants:
For foundation programs: WAEC (or equivalent) with no lower than a B grade.
For Year 1 entry: A-Levels, IB, or WAEC with no lower than a B grade, plus one year of HND or Year 1 Bachelor’s completion.
Postgraduate Applicants:
A Second-Class Upper Division (2:1) and above or equivalent in undergraduate studies.
3. What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarship only covers either 100% of tuition fees for Year 1 of undergraduate (UG) studies or 50% of tuition fees for postgraduate (PG) studies.
4. Is there an application fee?
There is no application fee. Students can apply for the program free of cost.
5. How much will StudyNow cover for us? Will it cover Living, Accommodation, flight tickets, transportation?
No. the program will not cover living, accommodation, flight tickets or transportation.
6. After paying the first tuition fee for the first year, will StudyNow pay for the send year and upwards (For Undergraduate Degree)?
No. The StudyNow Scholarship 2025 is only for first year tuition fee.
7. Will StudyNow help us get a job?
No. StudyNow takes no responsibility of landing applicants a job during/post the tenure of scholarship. It is a program to help aspiring students make their dream of studying in the UK come true.
8. Does the scholarship cover MRes?
No, it does not cover MRes programs.
9. If I get the scholarship, will I need to provide POF?
Yes, Applicants must demonstrate the ability to meet UKVI financial requirements and proof of fund for their living expenses and subsequent years’ tuition (where applicable).
Application Process
10. How do I apply for the scholarship?
Applications must be submitted through the StudyNow Scholarship 2025 form that can be found on the StudyNow website [StudyNow - StudyNow Scholarship 2025]. Applications will open from March 1, 2025, and close on March 31, 2025.
11. What documents are required for the application?
Academic transcripts or certificates, completed scholarship application form, , video submission (for shortlisted applicants only).
12. Can I apply if I haven’t completed my current degree program?
Applicants for undergraduate and postgraduate courses must meet the minimum requirements outlined above. For foundation courses, applicants must have completed their O Levels.
13. Is it for a particular course or a course of our choice?
The StudyNow Scholarship 2025 is applicable to all courses, offered by York St. John University or the University of Sunderland, excluding the Master of Research (MRes)
14. Can I apply for the scholarship with my Neco result instead of WAEC?
Yes, you can.
15. Is there an age limit for applicants?
There is no age limit for applicants to the StudyNow Scholarship 2025. However, applicants must comply with the age requirements for enrolment in the courses specified by the respective universities. StudyNow shall not be held liable if an applicant’s age does not comply with the university’s specified age limits.
16. How Do I Apply with HND qualification?
Applicants with a Higher National Diploma (HND) must visit the website and submit their first-year transcripts along with their O Level results in the application form.
Selection Process
17. How are applicants selected for the scholarship?
Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Academic Excellence: Assessment of academic performance and qualifications.
Video Submissions: Evaluation of creativity, clarity, and relevance to the Scholarship’s objectives.
Extra-Curricular Activities and Leadership: Consideration of leadership roles, community service, and achievements.
18. What is the video screening?
The Video Assessment Round is a critical stage of the Scholarship application process, designed to evaluate applicants’ creativity, clarity, and alignment with the values and objectives of the Scholarship. This round will include three questions (2 video interview questions, 1 Text Based Question).
Only applicants who have successfully completed Round 1 (Academic Eligibility Review) of the Scholarship application process and have been invited by StudyNow are eligible to participate in the Video Assessment Round.
19. When will the winners be announced?
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted, and final selections will be announced during scholarship fairs in Nigeria and Ghana.
Post-Selection
20. What happens after I am selected as a winner?
Upon selection as a winner, the StudyNow team will contact the winners and provide guidance on the subsequent steps.
21. Can I defer the scholarship to a later year?
The scholarship offer cannot be deferred to a later year. It must be applied to the academic year and intake specified in the offer.
22. What if I don’t receive the scholarship? Can I apply again?
If you do not receive the scholarship this time, you remain eligible to apply for the StudyNow Scholarship in future rounds whenever they are announced.
23. Upon getting scholarship and starting university, Do I need to maintain my grades for the StudyNow Scholarship, and will my academic performance be monitored?
Selected winners of the StudyNow Scholarship program are required to maintain their grades and performance. Once the university program commences, the StudyNow team will monitor the academic progress of the scholarship recipients.
